Jane Smartypants is a nice girl from a good family.  Her vice is television.  If you think it’s the worst thing you have ever seen, she has probably had an epiphany while watching it.  Often, in the throes of horrible television, Jane finds proof that all the things in found in pocket sized inspirational books and life guides are true. She feels best about the world, and her future place in it while watching marathons that she shouldn’t be watching.  Television is a balm to Jane Smartypant’s anxious fretting that she is not off of her couch, doing better things.  Television is mean and lovely, and Jane understands that she has a problem–a very comfortable one that glows in the dark.
